Flamosaurus

After writing all day, I start to get drawing withdrawal. A quick Dinosaur sketch was the solution!

Environmental pressures would eventually select for a Flamejob right?
What are genes for otherwise?

Damn, two posts in one day -- you're spoiling us!

This is perhaps one of the most awesome things I have ever seen(!), and if you were to do a more finished version of it and sell it as a poster print, I would certainly consider putting some money down on it... ;]

Absolutely fantastic! If only they had markings like that (though we'll never know!!). Would make a good tattoo :D

Thanks Z and T!
A print is a great idea - might think about that next year if I get a spare weekend.
A tattoo is also a great idea.
I saw yours on your Blog, Lady T - awesome.

awesome. I think all dino's need a hot rod paint job.

Getting those flames to look like hotrod ones is an art in itself.
The trick is to put a circle where they join rather than a V.
Each flame artist has his own distinct take on the colour and complexity of the flame. Base it around circles and you will see what I mean.

Yo! Thanks Carlos, Craig, and for your incisive insights, Sprimude!

Carlos - it took about 2 hours or so? I had a rough twenty minute pencil and ink sketch before that, so maybe 2 and a half?

Back to my circular flamejob research, or maybe I'll go with the 'each artist has their own distinct take' angle?
Hmm. Decisions decisions.

So would the Raptors have yellow and blue Police markings? W
Would the bronto's have black and yellow construction diagonals?
See what you have started.

Ps there is a really cool Ben Hibon stick puppet animation in the latest Harry potter film.
